Volunteer and Fundraising Requirements 

Parent Volunteer Requirements

        * Home Meet Volunteer Requirement: Volunteering at a home meet is a great way to support your swimmer and the team. Parents are required to volunteer for any HOME meets that thier swimmer participates in. If a swimmer swims in a Durango home meet, a parent or family member is required to volunteer for at least 1 session of that meet.  If your swimmer swims in the home meet and you do not volunteer, your account will be charged a $25 fee.  Volunteer duties can range from helping with concessions, timing, officiating, announcing etc.  Volunteer sign ups are sent out via team email prior to the meet.

     * Volunteering at away meets is not required, but is strongly encouraged. Many away meets do require that DSC provide volunteers such as timers for at least 1 session of the meet.  These opportunities will be communicated to families on an as needed basis.  

Swim Challenge Fundraiser Requirement:

The Annual Swim Challenge is our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Monies are used to help offset operational costs of the team as well as to fund needs based swim scholarships. All swimmers are required to participate in fundraising for the  Annual Swim Challenge.  Each swimmer is required to raise $100 (whether they participate (swim) in the Swim Challenge or not).  If a swimmer does not raise the minimum $100, your account will be charged a $100 fee.  If there is more than one swimmer in the family the requirements are below:

     1 swimmer in a family:  $100

     2 swimmers in a family:  $150

     3 swimmers in a family:  $175

Business Sponsorship Drive

Each year, we reach out to local businesses as part of our annual Business Sponsorship Drive.  This fundraising opportunity is vital to the success of our team. The money raised from these sponsorships helps to fund coach travel fees, swim meets, equipment purchases and scholarships.  If you or a business you know would like to sponsor the team, please contact [email protected].
